Calaban (deceased)

A dashing and charismatic rogue with long brown hair and an eyepatch over his left eye. Calaban tricked each of the PCs individually into a trap, almost condemning them to a life of slavery. He managed to stay one step ahead of the party, escaping from Rigus to Automata, then through a portal to Sigil. The Black Lotus symbol on his cloak pin, and several letters referring to a mysterious Guildmaster, hint that he serves a higher power, but exactly who is unclear.

Aside from running a slavers ring in the Outlands, he was also involved in ousting the Council of Anarchy in the Automata Underground and replacing it with a gang of Bladeling mercenaries loyal to him and his masters. He also tried to set up an alliance between the Tiger's Claw and the Rise of the Swift, in order to help the latter smuggle slaves through Sigil.

His plans were foiled, and his life ended, when the PCs exposed the Swift's true intentions and faced Calaban in trial by combat. But Calaban's last words hinted that the fight wasn't over: “More will come.” (See The story so far)
