The Planeswalkers went to the abandoned slaughterhouse Yarrick Zan and Llamar's students had used as their base. Though they found the building heavily rigged with traps, they managed to recover several valuables and some clues. Yarrick's orders came straight from Guildmaster Brackett of the Black Lotus, with instructions to “harry our enemies and keep them occupied before you end them”, as “the more time they spend watching their backs in Sigil, the less time they can spend interfering with us”.
With the assassin threat behind them, the Planeswalkers turned their attention to a favor requested of them by Leggis Scrogg and Gwydion from the Automata Underground. In their quest to discover the fate of a missing member of their Council, Aurach the Fair, the two had scoured Sigil and beyond for any information that could lead them to her.
Finally, they had uncovered a lead. A young man belonging to a rich Sensate noble family, the Boyles, was rumored to have returned from a trip out of town with wings grafted to his back. According to the same rumors, the wings bore a striking resemblance to Aurach's own wings. Since the Society of the Black Lotus was known to be involved in her disappearance, and also was involved in grafting fiendish flesh to others' bodies, it was a solid lead to her location.
Leggis and Gwydion asked the Planeswalkers to infiltrate a house party at the Boyle manor and confirm whether or not the young man's new wings matched Aurach's description. If they could find any clues or evidence that could point to Aurach's location, it should also provide them with information on the Black Lotus.
The Planewalkers took advantage of their contacts within the Tiger's Claw and their Factions to get useful information, and began to make preparations to infiltrate the Boyle party disguised as a group of nobles and their servants.
